Bitget and UNICEF Join Forces to Train 300K Girls in Blockchain Across 8 Countries
Crypto exchange Bitget has launched a three-year partnership with UNICEF Luxembourg, aiming to promote blockchain education and digital literacy among young people — particularly adolescent girls — across eight nations. This partnership marks Bitget’s entry into the Game Changers Coalition, an initiative led by UNICEF’s Office of Innovation.
The program is set to impact 300,000 participants, including girls, parents, teachers, and mentors, in countries such as India, Brazil, Cambodia, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Morocco, and South Africa. This ambitious collaboration aligns with UNICEF’s goal to empower 1.1 million girls globally with tech and blockchain skills by 2027.
Bitget is contributing through its $10 million Blockchain4Her initiative, which supports women’s financial empowerment and digital inclusion through mentorship, funding, and custom learning resources. This campaign positions Bitget alongside major partners like the Global Video Game Coalition, the Micron Foundation, and Women in Games.
Beyond curriculum creation, Bitget plans to bridge UNICEF with Web3 innovators, inviting blockchain protocols and developers to serve as mentors. This will infuse the training with practical, real-world insights.
Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, emphasized the vision:
“Our mission is to close the gender gap in STEM by embedding blockchain education into global curricula. With help from top Web3 experts, we’re building a scalable and inclusive approach.”
According to global studies, girls and young women in low- and middle-income nations lose around $15 billion in economic opportunities annually due to lack of access to digital tools and skills. With 90% of today’s jobs requiring some level of digital competence, Bitget and UNICEF’s partnership directly addresses this inequality.
Revolutionizing Blockchain Learning with Gamification and AI
The initiative also includes the launch of UNICEF’s first interactive blockchain learning module, designed in collaboration with Bitget Academy. The module will blend online and offline sessions, using video game creation as the gateway to understanding blockchain fundamentals.
Chen explained the strategy:
“Gamified learning simplifies complex ideas. With over 3.3 billion gamers worldwide, interactive education feels natural, effective, and engaging.”
In addition to gamification, generative AI tools are being explored to enhance learning access. For example, former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao’s new project, Giggle Academy, aims to deliver free K–12 education globally through AI-powered lessons.
