As Typhoon Yagi, the strongest storm to hit Southeast Asia in 2018, attacks Vietnam, several crypto firms have joined the efforts to help the victims to airdrop tokens to the victims.

Currently, many crypto firms are attempting to contribute in the aftermath of the unprecedented force of Typhoon Yagi in Southeast Asia particularly Vietnam. The storm has led to more than 250 deaths, over 820 people were injured and 82 remain unaccounted, as has been estimated by the state’s disaster management agency.

Binance and KuCoin are some of the crypto exchanges which have come out in their support for the victims of the calamity.

Binance and KuCoin Pledge Tokens for Relief

Typhoon victims are to receive $1m in BNB tokens according to a statement released by the Binance charity wing. Users including 25 cities in northern Vietnam will be given 50 BNB tokens if they did the proof of address or the POA registration before September 10. To the participants who failed to complete it in this deadline, you will receive BNB tokens worth of $20, on condition that you registered on Binance before September 10 and complete the POA registration before September 30. The first round of donations is expected to trickle out on September 16.

Likewise, KuCoin has committed to reward 10,000 KuCoin (KCS) –it is worth about $80,000 — to the victims. Any user from the affected territories, who completed such KYC check as Identity, Basic, or Enhanced, performed any transactions between August 1 and September 12, will receive $20 in KCS tokens. KuCoin is expecting to begin the airdrop on September 18.
